This update was submitted via the TestFlight beta program, bringing the version to 23.11.0.76.

The new update is currently available to some iOS beta testers and will roll out to more people in the coming weeks.

After installing the latest update for iOS, some people may notice a change in the group chat and a new bell icon in the chat header.

If this feature is turned on, users will find different icons in group chats. They can call the group, but the icon now shows the context menu. The menu will give them two options - video or voice calls.

Previously there was an action page with these two options or two buttons to place a video or voice call. However, the latest update brings the context menu.

"If the video call button comes with a plus sign above the icon, it means the feature is enabled for your account," said one WhatsApp reviewer.

iOS users prefer context menus over desktop because of "enhanced visual appeal when integrated into the interface and providing a clean and elegant design."
